Mayor’s Youth Achievement Awards
Nomination deadline for annual awards is March 26

EVERETT – Nominations are being accepted through March 26 for the annual Mayor’s Youth Achievement Award, which recognizes the accomplishments of individuals ages 8 to 20 who attend school in the Everett area.
Students who attend schools in the Everett School District or those who have an Everett address, as well as those attending private schools or receiving a home-school education, are all eligible for consideration.  Youth should be nominated in their age category of 8-11, 12-15 or 16-20 years old.  Winners will be selected from each age category.

The goal of the awards is to emphasize the positive achievements of the city’s young people by recognizing those who have distinguished themselves in such areas as community service, politics, arts and entertainment, academics, athletics, citizenship and/or who have overcome obstacles to accomplish their goals.

Mayor Ray Stephanson believes Everett is fortunate to have many outstanding young people who, by their own actions, have established themselves as a foundation of hope for the future.  In order to recognize the achievements and contributions that students have made in our community, Mayor Stephanson encourages nominations of deserving Everett youth for this award.

“Most people know a deserving youth,” Mayor Stephanson said. “I encourage you to honor those outstanding young people for their contributions to our community.”

Nomination forms are available at Everett public libraries, elementary, middle and high school offices, the Mayor’s Office at Everett City Hall in the Wall Street Building, or on the City’s web page at: http://www.ci.everett.wa.us/default.aspx?ID=1130

Forms may also be requested via email to Kate Reardon at kreardon@ci.everett.wa.us.

Nominations must be returned by March 26 to: Kate Reardon, Public Information Director, 2930 Wetmore Ave, Suite 10A, Everett, WA 98201, or faxed to 425-257-8729.  Questions or comments can be directed to Kate Reardon at 425-257-8687 or kreardon@ci.everett.wa.us.
