New Developments: The Power of Possibility.
If there’s a new word for new, it’ll be discovered in the City of Everett in Washington State. We’re taking all the benefits of our location and 100-year history with us into the 21st century. What we have accomplished to date in this All-America City is the result of a citywide investment in growing both our quality of life and our competitive advantage. And tomorrow? We’ve got even better ideas in store.

Everett Riverfront
The 217-acre Everett Riverfront redevelopment, a unique mixed-use project offering abundant retail and residential space on the stunning frontage of the Snohomish River, is quickly becoming Washington State’s premier destination for working, shopping, dining and living. Adjacent to a protected habitat for native flora and fauna, the Riverfront redevelopment will treat residents and visitors to a breathtaking walkable community, spectacular views of the Cascade Mountains and miles of tree-lined trails. The proposed City of Everett Riverfront redevelopment master plan includes:

• Sustainable development
• Up to 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space
• 200,000 square feet of hotel space
• Up to 1,400 residential units
• Shoreline and habitat restoration
• Kayak launch points, bike trails and riverfront parks

Port Gardner Wharf
The Port of Everett and Maritime Trust Company are developing a $400-million mixed-use development in the City of Everett’s North Marina area. The highly anticipated Port Gardner Wharf project will feature a collection of high-quality condominiums and townhomes, professional office space, unique shops, destination restaurants and a marine-related craftsman district. Rising from the former site, the Wharf will offer enviable views of Port Gardner Bay, Whidbey Island and Washington State’s Olympic Peninsula mountain range. The Port Gardner Wharf master plan includes:

• Approximately 179,000 square feet of retail space
• Approximately 461,000 square feet of office space
• Up to 660 high-quality residences
• Outdoor Plaza and amphitheater
• Extensive trails for hiking and biking
• Nearly 2,300 boat slips in the adjacent marina

University of Washington North
In 2007 Legislature directed the Washington State Office of Financial Management (OFM) and the University of Washington to recommend sites and develop an academic plan for a new UW campus in North Puget Sound. Two of the four sites that have been short listed are in Everett. Everett’s preferred site and the number 1 recommended site is in the Everett Station Area. As the largest city in the 3-county region to be served by the new campus, Everett’s urban setting offers an extraordinary array of recreational, cultural, housing, experiential learning and convenience opportunities for UW North students, faculty and employees. Legislation to authorize expansion of higher education in Snohomish County was introduced in the 2009 Session of the Washington State Legislature.
