Workforce

Great Thinking. With a View.
Propelled by a Washington State heritage of invention that includes the design and manufacture of the world’s largest passenger jets and smallest microprocessors, the Everett workforce is imagining possibilities and delivering realities in key industries. Our 52,400-person labor pool fuels companies in high-tech, biotech, nanotech, aerospace and many others. Aerospace: Lofty Ideals.
In 1966, the world’s largest commercial aircraft manufacturer established a manufacturing plant just south of the City of Everett in Washington State. Today, Boeing’s Everett facility is the largest building in the world by volume—with an Everett workforce of more than 29,000 specialized employees involved in the production of the 747, 767, 777 and new 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The City of Everett in Washington State is also home to the country’s largest facility for the repair and refurbishment of commercial aircraft. The Aviation Technical Services plant employs more than 1,400 engineers, technicians and support staff.

High Technology: Big Thinking, Small Scale.
Southwest Everett supports a thriving technology corridor, offering more than 20 million square feet of advanced commercial space within a 10-mile area. Forward-thinking companies like Intermec (bar code technology), Fluke Electronics (electronic equipment testing) and Verizon (telecommunications) continue to do the impossible—on an impossibly small scale. And Everett Community College, through their Advanced Technology Training Center, bolsters the Everett workforce and these companies with an ongoing stream of qualified employees.

Global Economy.
Nippon Business Institute at Everett Community College prepares students and knowledge workers in the protocol of international business.

Health Care: Vital Signs.
The health care industry is also an important part of the City of Everett economy and a substantial employer of the Everett workforce. With 3,165 workers in the City of Everett, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett serves a five-county area with top-rated patient care. The Everett Clinic provides high-quality health care in an intimate office setting, with more than 1,200 qualified clinicians and support personnel on staff.
